FAAZMIAR continues to share its knowledge with the industry through its active participation at the Conference of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO 42) CAFEO 42 Papers. This year, the prestigious event was held at the Sabah International Convention Centre from 21st to 23rd October 2024, gathering the engineering community from all 10 ASEAN member countries. The conference, an annual cornerstone of collaboration and innovation, centered around the theme: “Charting ASEAN Growth with Digital Transformation, Smart Engineering, and Green Solutions.”
At this year’s event, Ir. Razak Yakob from FAAZMIAR presented a thought-provoking paper addressing the cultural and organizational barriers to well digitalisation. Although the paper was based on real-world industry observations, it was strongly supported by in-depth literature reviews. Ir. Razak emphasized that the challenges in digitalisation efforts are not exclusive to well digitalisation but are prevalent across various industries undergoing digital transformation. The paper highlights the complexities organizations face when trying to integrate new technologies, particularly in overcoming deep-rooted cultural and structural obstacles.
By presenting these insights, FAAZMIAR aims to spark further discussion within the engineering and energy sectors, encouraging industry players to collaborate and find solutions that will pave the way for successful digitalisation. The hope is that through open dialogue and shared experiences, the industry can better navigate the path toward embracing digital innovation.
